Famee Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 23, 2026

Famee is a family organizer. It stores information that you and your family add so you can coordinate calendars, tasks, lists, recipes, meals, reminders, and assistant conversations. This policy explains what we process, why we process it, and what choices you have.

1. Who this policy covers

This policy applies to the Famee mobile app and its supporting services. In this policy, “Famee,” “we,” and “us” mean the operator of the Famee service.

Famee is designed for families and household organizers. Adults and guardians can create profiles for children, pets, and other family members. An account-less profile does not sign in and does not receive direct push notifications.

2. Information we process

3. How we use information

4. Family sharing and visibility

Famee is a shared service. Content that you add to a family can be visible to other authorized members of that family. Access can depend on member role, item visibility, assignment, and other family settings. Private assistant threads are associated with the member who created them unless a feature clearly states otherwise.

Before you add information about another person, make sure that you have the right to add and share it.

5. Artificial intelligence

When you use an AI feature, Famee sends the information needed for your request to an AI gateway and a selected model provider. This can include your prompt, relevant family content, tool results, and an image or file that you choose to submit. Provider selection can change as Famee improves the service.

A recipe photo submitted for extraction is kept only for the current extraction session so that same-session follow-up requests can work. It is discarded during extraction-session cleanup and is not promoted to durable recipe-image storage. If you choose to retain a normal chat attachment, Famee can keep it in Convex file storage until it is deleted under the applicable retention rules.

Do not submit sensitive information to the assistant unless it is needed for your request. Third-party AI providers process submitted information under their own data-processing terms. Famee does not promise that every provider offers the same retention setting.

6. Service providers

Famee uses service providers to operate the app. Depending on the feature and platform, these can include:

These providers receive only the information needed to supply their service. They can process information in countries other than your own.

7. Push notifications

If you enable notifications, Famee stores a device push token and sends notification content through Expo and the platform push service. You can change notification preferences in Famee and can disable notification permission in your device settings.

8. Retention and deletion

Famee keeps active family content while it is needed to provide the service or until an authorized member deletes or replaces it. Some shared content can remain in a family after one member leaves or deletes an account because other family members still use that content.

Account deletion uses a 30-day recovery period. During deletion, Famee removes active memberships and starts cleanup of private assistant conversations, member settings, avatar links, and owned file references. After the recovery period, the user record is removed. Recovery cannot restore private data that cleanup has already removed. Family owners must transfer ownership before deleting their account, and the last Guardian cannot delete their account while protected family profiles still depend on them.

Assistant conversations can remain until you delete the account or an applicable cleanup process removes them. Temporary upload intents expire after about one hour, and unreferenced uploaded files are reclaimed. Some operational records, notification history, security records, and backups can remain for a limited period after deletion when needed for reliability, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal compliance.

9. Children and managed profiles

Famee is intended to be set up and managed by adults or guardians. A guardian can create an account-less profile for a child or another dependent. Such a profile has no independent login and no direct device access. Famee is not intended for a child to create an independent account without authorization from a parent or guardian.

If you believe a child provided personal information without proper authorization, contact us so we can review and remove it where appropriate.

10. Security

Famee uses access controls, authenticated requests, family-scoped permissions, platform-secure token storage, and service-provider security features. No storage or transmission system is completely secure. Please protect your account, device, and family invitations.

11. Your choices and rights

You can review and correct many profile and family settings in the app. You can change notification preferences, remove content when your role allows it, leave a family when permitted, and request account deletion in the app.

You can contact us to request access, correction, deletion, or restriction of personal information where applicable. Famee does not currently provide a self-service data export. We may need to verify your identity and authority over the relevant family data before completing a request.

12. Changes to this policy

We can update this policy when Famee adds features, changes providers, or must meet new legal requirements. We will change the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a change materially affects how we process personal information.
